The Instructions on How to Properly Floss Your “Fangs”

Posted .

Halloween is just around the corner, and if you’re not careful, there is a chance the Halloween treats can attack and harm your smile. So, it’s important to take care of your teeth (or fangs if you’re a vampire or werewolf) by brushing your teeth twice a day and flossing at least once a day.

However, we understand that flossing can be difficult for some people. So, to help you properly floss this Halloween, our Steven A. Beuligmann, DDS Inc team has provided the following flossing instructions:

-Break off about 18 inches of floss and wind most of it around one of your middle fingers (or around your paw if you’re a werewolf).

-Wind the rest of the floss around the same finger on the opposite hand or paw.

-Hold the floss tightly, having about one inch between your two index fingers. Guide that section of floss between your teeth using a gentle sawing motion.

-When the floss reaches the gums, curve it into a “C” shape against the tooth or fang. Gently slide it into the space that lies between the gums and tooth until you feel resistance.

-Hold the floss against the tooth and gently scrape the side, moving the floss away from the gums.

If you do these things, you will have a high chance of having strong and healthy fangs this Halloween! For more information and details, please feel free to call our office today at 760.729.5964. Your dentist, Dr. Steven A. Beuligmann, and our dental team are more than happy to help you in any way we can, and we look forward to hearing from you!
